Statistics 1916-1970.

The records consist of statistics compiled for Lutheran Mission New Guinea and its predecessors. The documents include, among others, figures for number of missionaries, national workers, baptisms, stations, students, and congregations. It is not until 1965 that the statistics are labeled as Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Guinea (ELCONG), although the ELCONG was established in 1956. They are arranged chronologically and include the early years of the German Neuendettelsau Mission Society work, the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Iowa and Other States, and the American Lutheran Church. Early records are in German.
